The racking can be built as drive-in (Last in First out (LIFO) method) of drive-through (First in First out (FIFO) method). Here the material handling equipment drives through racking & thus need no aisles & uses space most efficiently. The pallets are placed on longitudinal beams. Drive in/ Drive through racking is widely used in cold storages as it uses minimum floor space. However the initial cost of racking is relatively higher.
